I walked this path
Knowing it was right
I felt that it was in my heart
A dream I should embellish
I was a star burning bright
Creating a path to be followed
My light shined across light years
Even clusters didn’t seem as lovely
But light doesn’t last forever
My light will give away
Dying away and becoming
Death among a universe
Full of endless life
Only forgettable memories will linger
Replaced with brighter stars
Shinning to farther distances
I never cared to shine that bright
I wanted to be dim, burning dark
But trauma forced it’s hand
Giving me materials to burn a life time
Simplicity was my stolen wish
Even now, if I wish upon a shooting star
I could never be granted such happiness
But my heart has accepted this path
My regret has turned to understanding
And my light’s need can’t last forever
My light will give away
