Standing under a lifeless tree
A dim sun breaking through the branches aptly
The warmth holding me safely
The wind stroking my hair gently
Telling me everything is okay, surely
I close my eyes
And remember fondly
Of a time when this tree
Briskly held such thriving life
When cherry blossoms danced about
Smelling passionately of sweetened love
Those memories are soon forgotten
Fragrance fading far fast
Lovely living life long past
Gone, forgotten, no more can it last
I open my eyes
And forget fondly
Time has halted life
None can thrive so suddenly
Cherry blossoms are only a myth
Now smelling sweetly of broken promises
These memories are remembered
The sun no longer shines
Only rain rushes rapidly down
Embarking on my skin with loneliness
Dousing my hair with a heavy silence
Whispering, telling, screaming to me
I must move on from a lifeless tree
Never again will it thrive
